College of Medicine, University of Al-Mustansiriyah discussed a Ph.D. thesis on investigating the effect of oxidative stress on the autonomic parameters of the heart and blood vessels in obese people by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Heba Saleh Mahdi. The thesis reviewed the effect of the degree of oxidation on the balance of heart rate variability in obese people, as well as measuring the cardiovascular risk of obesity by means of the ratio of the QT variance index. The thesis highlighted that age has a positive effect on the stress index, as BMI, circumference, waist ratio and height positively and significantly indicate triglycerides, systolic blood pressure and cholesterol.
