Considering his strategic vision to develop the Iraqi academic system and keep pace with global digital and knowledge transformations, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi issued a ministerial order to establish the College of Excellence and the College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad, starting with the academic year of 2025/2026.

Dr. Al-Aboudi reviewed that College of Excellence includes departments of Applied Information Systems, Data Science, E-Business Management, Accounting and Banking, Philosophy, and Sociology, while the College of Artificial Intelligence includes specializations in engineering applications, biomedical applications and big data.

His Excellency highlighted that the ministerial order set August 20, 2025, as the deadline for completing the logistical and human resources requirements for the two colleges and directed the Directorate of Studies, Planning and Follow-up to establish admissions controls and application mechanisms to ensure the attraction of qualified students and the absorption of energies seeking innovative educational environments.
