During a participation in the semi-annual meeting of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, which marked its new launch in the capital, Baghdad, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi emphasized that this meeting represents a strategic milestone for integrating Arab scientific efforts and unifying visions toward developing mechanisms to support scientific research, responding to development challenges and formulating solutions based on knowledge and innovation.
Dr. Al-Aboudi said that
Iraq, through its academic institutions, has always believed and continues to
believe that scientific research is the cornerstone of sustainable development.
His Excellency added that
the Distinguished Scientific Research Award in the Arab World, proposed by the
Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and whose regulatory procedures have been
completed, represents a practical step toward promoting a culture of excellence
and creativity and motivating Arab researchers to submit quality projects that
keep pace with global knowledge transformations.
For his part, the
Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, Dr.
Abdul Majeed Benamara praised the significant efforts made by His Excellency,
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser
Al-Aboudi in supporting the Federation, stressing that the launch and
resumption of its work from Baghdad embodies Iraq's role in strengthening and
supporting Arab scientific and development initiatives.
It is worth to be
mentioned that the meeting was attended by of a number of Arab ministers of
higher education and heads and representatives of scientific research councils
and bodies in Arab countries.
