His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi chaired a meeting of the committee tasked with following up on the final preparations for the opening of the College of Excellence and the College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad in early September.
Dr. Al-Aboudi directed the completion of procedures related to the
privileges granted to students of the College of Excellence, which include
admission to graduate programs and priority in scholarship applications, as
well as allocating of a monthly stipend of 200,000 dinars to each student to
support their academic careers and encourage academic excellence.
His Excellency said that the attendees reviewed the final progress of
the College of Artificial Intelligence and its departments specializing in
engineering applications, bio-applications, and big data, as well as reviewing the
map of faculty members with specific specializations who will teach in the
undergraduate and graduate programs.
Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized the strategic importance of the College of
Excellence and its specializations, which cover applied information systems,
data science, e-business management, accounting and banking, philosophy, and
sociology.
His Excellency added that the college represents the nucleus of the
University of Excellence project, which will contribute to supporting the
knowledge economy, enhancing the innovation environment and graduating
qualified graduates capable of competing regionally and internationally.
