During the conference launching the Student Guide for the Central Admissions System, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi announced the launch of the Central Admissions Guide for Iraqi Universities for the academic year 2025/2026.
Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized that this issue is of great importance to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as it summarizes the level of responsibility in managing and organizing the aspirations of new students preparing to enter the university education environment and choose majors that align with their academic aspirations and competitive grades.
His Excellency reviewed that this year has achieved the highest rate of university innovations in the history of higher education and scientific research institutions in Iraq.
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the total number of approved innovations for the 2025/2026 academic year has reached 32 colleges, 151 scientific departments, and 39 branches.
His Excellency continued by saying that the university innovations were in line with a strategic scientific vision that resulted in colleges of excellence, artificial intelligence, nursing and programs for the digital economy, engineering, energy, and automated manufacturing, as well as transforming technical institutes at technical universities into polytechnic colleges to contribute to strengthen the knowledge economy, developing skills and consolidate innovation.
It is worth to be mentioned that the conference witnessed launching the Student Guide for the Central Admission System included presentations by the Deputy of the Ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd and the Director General of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, Dr. Hazim Abdul Razzaq, regarding the transformations in university education, the digital platform Qadim (Submit) and the mechanisms for applying to the Central Admissions System.
