During a press conference, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi inaugurated the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad.
Dr. Al-Aboudi conducted a field tour of the College of Excellence and its departments, which focus on applied information systems, data science, business administration, e-commerce, accounting and banking, philosophy, and sociology.
His Excellency also viewed the departments of the College of Artificial Intelligence, whose specializations include engineering applications, biomedical applications, and big data.
Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized that the ministry has succeeded in embodying its vision in a progressive strategy based on a long-term horizon, considering the future of generations, the requirements of national development, and the rapidly accelerating global transformations and discoveries of knowledge.
His Excellency added that the academic year 2025-2026 represents the peak of university innovations achieved during three years of ministerial performance.
Dr. Al-Aboudi said that it resulted in the creation of (54) colleges, (292) scientific departments, and (70) branches, and that the creation of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad constitutes pioneering strategic opportunities for Iraqi university students to keep pace with advanced academic specializations.
It is worth to be mentioned that the inauguration was attended by the senior staff, university presidents, the President of the Iraqi Academic Association and college deans.
