A master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Information Engineering, University of Al-Nahrain on designing of efficient broadband and multiband radio frequency energy harvesting via using optimization techniques by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Reham Mahmoud Yassin. The dissertation aimed at proposing a new methodological design method to improve the performance of a small-sized antenna with a wide frequency range or multiple frequency bands and to match a good input impedance with the impedance of the wave rectifier via applying two programs that work in parallel to implement the PSO Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm Implemented in MATLAB and CST MWS Microwave Simulator. The dissertation highlighted an explanation of the patch antenna re-design as an applied example via using the proposed optimization algorithm to obtain a frequency band of 2.4 - 2.5 GHz that meets WLAN applications.
