Mosul University: On Remote Sensing Techniques & Water Crisis

Center of Remote Sensing, University of Mosul held an online workshop on the role of remote sensing techniques in addressing water crisis via cyberspace. The online workshop reviewed the importance of using remote sensing techniques in monitoring the water crisis, water storage and the construction of dams on the Tigris River in Turkey, especially the Jazra Dam, which will reduce Iraq's water share. The online workshop demonstrated the general water policies of Iraq and the neighboring countries and methods of storing the abundance of water during the rainy season in order to optimally utilize of it to overcome the ordeal of water scarcity in the summer season through water harvesting projects.
