A joint research team in the Al-Manara College for Medical Sciences and College of Medical Sciences, University of Misan conducted a joint study on addressing the problem of medical waste and its health effects on community. The joint study reviewed that the study links the development of medical means and environmental management, through knowledge of the mutual effects between these fields, Such as knowing the effect of medical methods management in treating medical waste on public health and environmental balance in light of creating sustainable development. The joint study recommended contributing to establish the concept of integrated management for the treatment of medical waste, techniques for treating it in light of the international standards, assessing the effects of these wastes on the environment and addressing their risks. It is worth mentioning that the joint research team was the faculty members in Misan University, Dr. Haider Saadoun Qasim and Dr. Mustafa Ali Muhammad and the faculty member in Al-Manara College for Medical Sciences, Mr. Farah Khayoun.
