During a meeting with the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi stressed on the need to proceed with the necessary procedural steps to obtain international accreditation for Iraqi medical colleges.

Dr. Al-Aboudi renewed Higher Education’s supporting on enabling the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges to make its scientific decision independently in front of international organizations and councils and to complete its achievement in granting accreditation and the associated standards and procedures that would support the academic reputation of medical education in Iraq.

For their part, Head and members of National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges reviewed that National Council is working according to specific timetables in light of the global contexts approved by the International Federation for Medical Education, as well as Head of the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges highlighted that the specialized medical colleges are looking forward to complete the international accreditation procedures according to the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges, which made a positive leap in this field.

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by Deputy for Scientific Research Affairs, Head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation and the Head of the Committee of Deans of Medical Colleges.
