College of Engineering Technology-Mosul, Northern Technical University discussed a master dissertation on designing and implementing of peak power tracking technologies for a photovoltaic system using a programmable logic controller (PLC) by the postgraduate student, Mr. Omar Abdul Latif Younis.

The dissertation aimed at designing and implementing a smart system to track the maximum power point, improve solar system efficiency and stabilizing power output using traditional control techniques, as well as integrating algorithms with PLC modules to automate tracking processes.

The dissertation demonstrated the system's ability to track the maximum power point accurately and efficiently, compared to traditional methods.

The dissertation recommended the adoption of MPPT technologies in local solar energy projects to improve their efficiency and to enhance solar system monitoring and control systems using HMI interfaces and Internet of Things technologies.
