During a meeting with the delegation of the World Bank mission to Iraq headed by the Special Representative, Mr. Ramzi Numan and his accompanying delegation, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed supporting electronic education programs and e-governance. His Excellency said that the two sides highlighted the aspects of agreeing to form a team from the Ministry and the World Bank to activate the investment file in the education sector, as well as benefiting from the experiences of Iraqi faculty members in the World Bank programs to Iraq. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib added that the Ministry's program focuses on developing the capabilities of Iraqi university graduates and developing their skills to obtain job opportunities via the private sector in cooperation with the World Bank. For his part, Mr. Numan said that the World Bank contributed to the reconstruction of some liberated areas and the rehabilitation of schools and bridges in these areas. Mr. Numan expressed the WB’s keenness on supporting the Iraqi higher education strategy in adopting electronic education mechanisms and programs.
