During a meeting with the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Dr. Sari Ahmad Hamdan Ghanima and the accompanying delegation included the Assistant President of the University for International Accreditation and Rankings, Dr. Anas Ratib Al-Saud, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abid Al-Sahib reviewed academic cooperation mechanisms and exchanging scholarships. His Excellency stressed on the readiness of the Iraqi side to gran scholarships to the Jordanian side and to maintain professional cooperation between Iraqi universities and colleges and their Jordanian counterparts in the public and private fields in light of specialized academic programs and exchanging faculty members to serve interest of both countries. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib said that Iraqi public and private universities and colleges are subject to a procedural evaluation of the scientific and administrative level. His Excellency highlighted that the Ministry is adopting specific time limits to indicate performance, quality data and global publication. Dr. Abid Al-Sahib directed forming a joint team included the representatives of Directorate of the Studies, Planning and Follow-up, Directorate of the Private University Education, Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations and cultural attaché in Amman to draw the practical steps for bilateral cooperation. For his part, Dr. Ghanima appreciated the cooperation and openness of the Iraqi Higher Education and Scientific Research’s Institution, as well as describing Iraq as the reference for higher education for many Arab countries. Dr. Ghanima granted five scholarships to Iraqi students in a number of scientific specialties, especially Clinical Psychology and Nursing, as well as reviewing that Al-Ahliyya Amman University is currently possessing an important elite of Iraqi students who have demonstrated their merit in receiving knowledge and excellence. Dr. Ghanima added that Al-Ahliyya Amman University inked cooperation agreements with a number of Iraqi counterpart universities to address coordination requirements in the field of scientific and cultural exchange and to develop the joint scientific research environment. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director of the Studies, Planning and Follow-up and the Director of the Private University Education.
