Babylon University: On Microsoft Visual Basic & Hila City’s Wells

College of Engineering, University of Babylon conducted a study on evaluating the quality of well water in Hila City via using water quality index and its application via Microsoft Visual Basic software.

The study included testing ten samples of groundwater’s wells in different areas of Hila’s City for extended periods with two samples from each well per month to be analyzed in the laboratory according to twelve feature such as temperature, acidity, electrical conductivity, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, chloride, sulfate, nitrate, sodium, potassium and total soluble salts to assess water quality for irrigation purposes.

The study included testing the quality of water for drinking and irrigation purposes based on method of WQI according to the Iraqi standard specifications to read the measurement of well water quality for irrigation purposes.
