College of
Science, University of Al-Mustansiriyah discussed a master dissertation on the
effect of Pyoverdin extracted from pseudomonas spp isolated from soil on
pathogenic bacteria by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Huda Abbas Abid.
The dissertation
aimed at preparing bacterial isolates that help produce Pyoverdin and studying
its effect on wound and burn bacteria.
The dissertation
reviewed preparing of the Vitek system, studying of bacteria that produce Pyoverdin
by quantitative and qualitative methods and collecting of (42) isolates from
wound and burn bacteria and their diagnosis through biochemical tests.
The dissertation
concluded that Pyoverdin has an inhibitory effect on vital cell membranes and
pathogenic bacteria and has a synergistic inhibitory effect with antibiotics on
bacteria isolated from wounds and burns.
