A master's dissertation was discussed in the College of Agriculture, Al-Qasim Green University on the genetic polymorphism of the GREMLIN1 Gene and its relation to some physiological traits in Iraqi Awassi sheep by the postgraduate studnt, Mr. Faris Sahib Omran Al-Taei. The study reviewed the association of Gremlin 1 polymorphism (GREM1) with some reproductive characteristics in Iraqi Awassi sheep. The study concluded that the Awassi ewes is influenced by the phenotypic features of ewes with heavy live body weight and higher body measurements are more suitable for having twin lambs than single-born ewes, as well as the p.I237F mutation in the GREM1 Gene has a significant negative effect on reproduction in sheep Al-Awassi.
