In cooperation with Imam Husayn and Imam Al Abbas Holy Shrines, College of Administrations and Economics, University of Karbala organized its international 9th conference on enhancing the role of the universities in developing the national economy, president of the University, Dr. Moneer Hameed Al-Saeidi said.

Dr. Al-Saeidi added that the conference, in which 218 researchers participated, aimed at exploiting academic and international experience, conducting economic approaches between Iraqi and international economies, achieving the recommendations of the conference and addressing issues of the Iraqi economy.

Dr. Al-Saeidi added that the conference included the important role of the productive universities in achieving the economic development, the universities role in employing the graduates, economic improvements in Iraqi economy and studying the most important factors behind administrative and financial corruptions.

Dr. Al-Saeidi said that the conference recommended providing requirements of taxes improvement, focusing on fighting poverty programs, activating the principle of social economy program and providing cooperation between universities and economic sectors.
