Higher Education: Iraqi Universities Topped QS World University Rankings

Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that (QS) World University Rankings in its ranking for 2022 edition, which reviewed Iraqi universities topped the ranking and they are the University of Baghdad that followed by Al-Mustansiriyah, Kufa, Babylon and Basrah Universities. Higher Education reviewed that the official website of the ranking (https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2022) highlighted that one thousand three hundred international universities from various countries of the world were competed, including Iraqi universities in 2022 edition, which is the University of Baghdad obtained the score (801- 1000), University of Al-Mustansiriyah obtained the score (1001-1200), University of Kufa obtained the score (1001-1200), University of Babylon obtained the score (1201+) and University of Basrah obtained the score (1201+). Higher Education demonstrated that Iraqi universities achieved a global presence and competition in the (TIMES IMPACT 2021), and the Times version of international universities indicated the competition, attendance and participation of Baghdad, Technology and Basrah universities for 2021 and the (QS), (Scimago), (Greenmetrics) and (URAP) rankings, (RUR) and (Webometrcs) reviewed no less than eighty-six Iraqi universities and colleges in the global competition arena, while Iraq was ranked forty-fifth globally in publishing scientific research, ranked the sixth score in the Middle East and third score in the Arab world in the index of publication in global containers. It is worth mentioning that the Qs ranking is based on the criteria of academic reputation (40%), employers (10%), student-to-faculty member (20%), citations (20%), international faculty member (5%) and international students (5%).
