During the launching ceremony of the 1st National Report On Response of Universities to T Goals of Sustainable Development, His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Abd Yaser Al-Aboudi stressed on that the Ministry and its public and private universities and colleges are committed to the development plan and its time horizon that extends to the 2030, work to achieve the largest percentage of response to its indicators and meet national and international entitlements taking into account changes, adapting to emergency conditions and overcoming challenges in order to ensure sustainable education and fulfill responsibilities towards community via localizing development goals in the educational strategy and launching them towards global partnerships.

Dr. Al-Aboudi announced on the launch of the report on responding to the goals of sustainable development and revealing the universities' tendency to adopt the European course system.

His Excellency reviewed the expected orientation of universities and their willingness to adopt the European course system.

Dr. Al-Aboudi said that the UNESCO's praised the Iraqi Higher Education for adopting the Bologna Process in Iraqi universities, focusing on the centrality of the students, enabling them with practical tools and developing qualifications clearly embodies the rise of the education quality index in university educational institutions.

His Excellency honored the universities and colleges that obtained advanced scores, were topped by Al-Mustansiriyah University was at the top of public universities and Al-Mustaqbal University College at the top of private universities and colleges.

For his part, Head of the Sustainable Development Committee, Dr. Ihab Naji Abbas said that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research worked within the space of international partnerships in achieving the stages and goals of sustainable development and forming national committees to prepare the national report on indicators of Iraqi universities' response to sustainable development.

For their part, the preparing Committee of the 1st National Report reviewed the indicators and results of the response of public and private universities and colleges.
