College of Nursing, University of Karbala held an online workshop on using the GenBank to search for genes and the genetic tree and designs the primer via FCC platform, the Faculty Member in the College, Mrs. Zahraa Ali Abd Al-Sahib said. Mrs. Abd Al-Sahib added that the online workshop reviewed the most important characteristics that the Genbank provides to the specialized researchers in genetics, such as the characteristic of primer design and the feature of comparing the gene under study with the rest of the genes. Mrs. Abd Al-Sahib highlighted that the online workshop also reviewed the gene under study, upload its sequences, the genetic map and the evolutionary tree for some genes, as well as how to use the international Genbank website besides registration steps for researchers the website to download the data. It is worth mentioning that the online workshop recommended that researchers and specialists that study genes to benefit of the website because it contains scientific information that can be invested in genetic techniques for scientific research.
