College of Administration and Economics, Al-Iraqia University organized an online workshop on the effects of Corona virus on the international economy, including Iraq, the Faculty Member in the College, Dr. Aysar Yassin Fahad said. Dr. Fahad added that the online workshop reviewed the most prominent repercussions of the Corona epidemic on the level of the local economy of countries, the impact of the virus on obstructing national economic activity, the costs of responding and containing the epidemic, the loss of market confidence and its impact on the air transportation sector. Dr. Fahad continued by saying that the online workshop also reviewed the repercussions of the epidemic on the international economy level via its effect on trade exchanges, the effect of regional quarantine on the need of production, global demands and its impact on economic growth and global oil prices. Dr. Fahad highlighted that the online workshop recommended increasing the interest of the Iraqi government, recovering funds that are marred by suspicions of corruption, ensuring the flow of basic commodities to the local market, easing the transition process between the Iraqi governorates, working to restructure public spending, getting rid of unnecessary expenditures and working towards supporting the agricultural sector, especially in the governorates that based on agricultural resources.
