Al-Nahrain University: On Human Genome Project

DNA Forensic Center for Research and Training, University of Al-Nahrain held a symposium on human genome project, its scientific applications and its social and moral implications. The symposium, in which a number of faculty members participated, reviewed human genome, the latest technologies and developments in determining the sequence of nitrogenous bases in the world, the role of the human genome in the fields of diagnosing intractable genetic diseases and the possibility of benefiting from them in the fields of treatment, future prospects in criminal science applications and the most important techniques as well as medical and criminal applications of the human genome in addressing  forensic and social issues . The symposium recommended participating in the international meetings on work ethics to confirm the opinion of Iraqi specialists to search for funders to support Iraqi scholars and notify Clergymen to confirm the legal opinion of a number of cases not legally established yet.
