College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Diyala held an online symposium on using of the Excel program in analytical chemistry in light of practical laboratories via using the FCC application, the Faculty Member in the College, Dr. Abdul Kareem Fadhil said. Dr. Fadhil added that the online symposium reviewed three axes, the first was on the excel program, the benefits of the program and the most important tools in it. Dr. Fadhil continued by saying that the online symposium also reviewed the second axis on how to calculate the molar mass (formerly known as molecular weight), the number of moles, the molar concentration of three substances via using excel by building the appropriate function based on the chemical laws in the analytical chemistry and the necessary steps to build a model that contributes in facilitating work within the laboratory, as well as the third axis on statistical data processing via using the tools in the program, as a data model was used to show the relation between absorbance and concentration. It is worth mentioning that the online symposium demonstrated how to calculate the standard deviation and the relative standard deviation of this data via using the functions in the program and how to find a way to use the displayed data in the excel program without the need to replace it in the linear equation.
