A joint research team in the Universities of Al-Mustansiriyah and Al-Karkh of Science obtained a joint patent on preparing a new compound of derivatives 1 and 3 of oxazole to be used in treating skin infections. The joint patent, in which granted by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control Unit of the Ministry of Planning, aimed at preparing an oxazole extract from the benzoyl chloride compound and its spectral diagnosis based on (NMR) and (IR), as well as studying its toxicity on groups of lab mice and rabbits and its effect on the bacteria that causes skin infections. the joint patent reviewed that the new prepared compound has a high effectiveness in the treatment of infections of skinsand wounds within a short period without causing any toxic effect, which confirms the possibility of benefiting from it in the future in the pharmaceutical applications in the field of treating skin infections. It is worth mentioning that the joint research team included the faculty members in Al-Mustansiriya University, Dr. Abdul-Jabbar Khalaf Attia, Dr. Muhammad Faraj Shathar, Dr. Sahar Abdullah Kadhim and the researcher, Mrs. Asma Abdul-Baqi, and the faculty member in Al-Karkh University of Sciences, Dr. Ala’a Jowaed.
